Superpro Samui has welcomed fighters from around the world for many years—from complete beginners taking their first Muay Thai class to professional athletes preparing at the highest level of combat sports.
Most recently, we were proud to welcome former UFC light-heavyweight champion Jiří Procházka to our gym in Koh Samui. His visit follows another unforgettable training period at Superpro by Alex “Poatan” Pereira, the former UFC middleweight and light-heavyweight champion.
During separate visits, both fighters trained at Superpro Samui. Both have reached the top of one of the most demanding sports in the world. Seeing athletes of this level training inside our facilities is a special moment for our team—and a powerful reflection of the environment we have built at Superpro Samui.
Alex Pereira at Superpro Samui

Alex Pereira is recognised as one of the most accomplished strikers in modern combat sports. Before entering the UFC, he became a two-division champion in professional kickboxing. He later achieved another rare accomplishment by winning UFC championships at both middleweight and light heavyweight.
During his time at Superpro Samui, Pereira trained inside our Muay Thai ring alongside experienced fighters and trainers. The photographs from his visit show something central to the Superpro experience: serious training in an authentic Thai gym environment.
Welcoming Jiří Procházka

Jiří Procházka is known for his creative fighting style, powerful finishes and intense approach to martial arts. The Czech fighter captured the UFC light-heavyweight championship in 2022 and has remained one of the division’s leading competitors.
Jiří is currently training at Superpro Samui as part of his preparation for his upcoming UFC main event. On 21 November 2026, he will face undefeated contender Navajo Stirling in the five-round main event of UFC Fight Night at ABHA Arena in Doha, Qatar.
His training at Superpro brings another world-class athlete into a gym that has been part of Koh Samui’s combat-sports community since 2006. For our members and visiting athletes, sharing the training environment with fighters of this level is inspiring. It demonstrates the standard of training that can take place here while preserving the friendly, welcoming atmosphere that makes Superpro accessible to every experience level.

Koh Samui offers a rare combination: serious martial-arts training and a tropical island environment where athletes can train, recover and stay in one place.
